Current market status of charging modules
As a high-power power supply application, the main components of the charging module include semiconductor power devices, magnetic components, capacitors, etc. However, since the beginning of this year, due to factors such as strong downstream application demand and limited device capacity, the cost of chip materials has continued to rise, and the profit margin of charging modules with MOS tubes as the main device has been severely compressed and reduced. As the unit profit rate continues to decline, the scale effect of charging module companies will become more and more important, and production capacity will inevitably be further concentrated. The leading companies in the mainstream supply of the industry will be more dominant in the development of the entire industry.
According to the latest data from China Charging Alliance, as of September 2021, there are 1.044 million public charging piles, including 428,000 DC charging piles and 616,000 AC charging piles. From January to September 2021, the increase in charging infrastructure will be 542,000 units; as of September, the cumulative number of charging infrastructure nationwide was 2.223 million units, an increase of 56.8 percent year-on-year. Compared with the whole year of 2020, the number of public charging piles is 807,000, the total number of charging piles is 1.681 million, and the charging infrastructure increases by 462,000 units, a year-on-year growth rate of 12.4 percent ; the increase in charging piles in the first nine months of 2021 The amount has greatly exceeded the level of the whole year of 2020, which shows that the construction scale of the charging pile industry in the country is continuously expanding and growing rapidly.
